Vanda Solar & Battery Project
The Vanda Solar & Battery Project is a utility-scale solar and energy storage development, underpinned by 2,000MW of solar PV installed capacity and 4,400MWh of battery storage, ranking it among the largest planned projects of its kind in the world.
The project, which is being developed in Indonesia, will supply Singapore with 300MW of non-intermittent, zero-emission electricity once operational. It will also create new, green jobs for Indonesians, and help attract foreign direct investment to support the growth of the domestic economy and cleantech sectors. Together with other energy export projects in Indonesia, the Vanda Solar & Battery Project incentivises solar manufacturers to establish factories in Indonesia and supports the country’s energy transition and ambitions to become a clean energy hub, earning the backing of the Indonesian government.
The project is a development of Vanda RE Pte Ltd, a joint venture company owned by Singapore-headquartered renewable energy developer Gurīn Energy and Petronas’ clean energy solutions entity, Gentari International Renewables.
Vanda RE is part of the Green Corridor Indonesia consortium, which will build a transmission line between Indonesia and Singapore – helping deliver on both governments’ joint plans for a green corridor between the two Southeast Asian nations.
